Zoya Reagan

Hi everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend! As for me, I'm recovering a bit from a weekend filled with lots of fun and food. :D

Today, we are wrapping up Zoya's Beach Summer 2012 Collection with the Reagan. Reagan is a dark purple-toned fuchsia with a creme finish.

Reagan is a deep and vivid fuchsia that still retains a soft quality and does not cross over into being too bright or neon. It is the third pink from the collection, and it is the darkest and most purple-influenced of the pinks. If you are debating between Reagan and Lara, go with Lara if you want more pink and go with Reagan if you want more purple.

The formula is what I have come to expect from this collection. It goes on smooth and buttery, without any dragging or pooling. It is a saturated color with great color-payoff, and it is opaque in two coats. It dries pretty quickly, so you don't have to wait too long between coats.

Now that I have tried all the polishes from the Beach Collection, my favorites are Wednesday and Arizona. Wednesday is a beautiful muted turquoise that is perfect for summer. And Arizona is a lovely orange that looks fresh and citrus-y on the nail.

I would love to know what you think of this collection. What are the hits and misses for you? Will any of them be making it onto your wishlist?

You can find Reagan on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Lara

Happy weekend everyone!! *throws confetti* :-)

Today, I have for you Lara, the second of three pinks from Zoya's Beach Collection. Lara is a cool-toned magenta pink in a creme finish.

Lara is a medium vivid pink with blue undertones, so that at certain angles it looks a little purple. While it is vivid, it is not neon and it still retains its soft quality. Compared to the other two pinks in the Beach Collection, Lara is darker than Shelby, but not as dark as Reagan.

The consistency is not too thick, not too thin, and it's easy to work with. Each coat of polish has great color payoff, and it is fully opaque in two coats. Just like the other pinks in the collection, Lara isn't a super unique color, but it is a rich and girly pink that is fun to wear in the summer and all year round.

You can find Lara on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Shelby

Hi guys! Another week is almost gone and the weekend is almost here! As usual, the weekend cannot come soon enough for me. :-)

Today, I have for you Shelby, the first of three pinks from Zoya's Beach Collection. Shelby is a cool-toned, soft barbie pink in a creme finish.

Shelby is quite a cool pink and contains a blue undertone. In natural and whiter lighting, the color looks more lavender pink. In artificial and yellower lighting, the color looks more candy pink. It has enough saturation that even though it is a light pink, it does not come across as a pastel.

The formula is a little on the thin side, so the first coat can be a bit streaky. Otherwise, it was easy to work with, and I didn't have any issues with pooling or running into the sides of the nail. Color payoff is good and I reached opacity in two coats. This isn't a totally unique color, but it is a pretty pink that will look lovely on cooler-toned skin.

You can find Shelby on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Tracie

Hi everyone and happy middle-of-the-week! :-)

Today, I have for you Tracie, the only non-cream from Zoya's Beach Collection. Tracie is a light, yellowish green with a subtle silver metallic shimmer.

I think of Tracie as a mellow color. It isn't very green due to its yellow tint. Zoya's website describes Tracie as a pistachio and avocado green, and I think that's about spot-on. The shimmer in the polish is mellow too. There isn't any obvious sparkle and it comes across as mostly a pearly finish on the nail.

Tracie is somewhat the odd one in the collection. For starters, it's not a cream. It also isn't much of anything else either. It's not too green or yellow, not too shimmery or sparkly, nor is it too bold or muted. I do like the silvery pearly finish, which looks subtle and lovely. What you see in the pictures is two coats, and I had no trouble with the formula. There is a small amount of visible brush strokes, which is on par for this type of finish.

You can find Tracie on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Arizona

Hello, dear readers! <3

Today we are continuing Zoya's Beach Collection with Arizona, another one of my favorites from the collection. Arizona is a slightly muted citrus orange in a creme finish.

Arizona is a fresh orange, but slightly softened so that it is not too loud or bright. Unlike other recent Zoya colors where muted is also a bit dusty, Arizona is muted only and retains its clean color. It has soft peachy and coral undertones without leaning too warm. It is a color that calls to mind orange creamsicles and orange sherbet.

What you see in the pictures is two coats. There is still a faint visible nail line, so a third coat would be best if you want full opacity. The formula is on par with the rest of this collection: it is easy to control and apply due to its buttery smoothness.

You can find Arizona on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Wednesday

Hi everyone! This week I have Zoya's Beach Summer 2012 Collection to share with you. It's a set of five cremes and one shimmer. Let's start with Wednesday, one of my favorites from the collection. Wednesday is a slightly faded light turquoise in a creme finish.

The name Wednesday makes me think of Addam's Family, so I would expect a dark and gloomy color. Instead it is quite summery and happy, with the right balance between blue and green. In person, it does look a bit more muted than in my pictures. I think it's a beautiful color that is ideal for lazy days at the beach.

The formula is smooth and buttery. It is thin enough for easy control, without being too thin that the polish runs into the sides of the nail. The first coat is a little streaky, but the second coat fixes that and achieves opacity.

You can find Wednesday on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Kimber

Hi there, lovely readers! <3

Today, I have for you Kimber, the last of Zoya's Summer 2012 Surf Collection. I am actually super excited to show you guys this one because it is my favorite from this amazing collection. Kimber is a super saturated strawberry pink with lovely golden shimmer in a foil finish.

Kimber is very bold and vibrant in person, and I tried my best to capture that in the pictures. Its base is an intense strawberry pink, which is most obvious when seen in natural lighting. In artificial lighting, the color can take on a more red sheen. The gold and pink shimmers bring a lot of warmth to this polish and give it a lot of depth. It is a gorgeous color you have to see in person to truly appreciate.

The formula is what I have come to expect from this collection. It goes on smooth and buttery, without any pooling or clumping. It has great color-payoff. I used two coats for the swatches, but one coat is almost enough. Drying time is a little faster than typical, so do work fast and don't use too many strokes over the same spot.

Now that I have tried all the polishes from the Surf Collection, I absolutely love all the colors. They are super shiny and look gorgeous in the sunlight. My favorite is of course Kimber, but the others are close seconds. This is probably one of my favorite collections from Zoya and is a must-have for the summer time. :-)

I would love to know what you think of this collection. What are the hits and misses for you? Will any of them be making it onto your wishlist?

You can find Kimber on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Carly

Hello everyone! :-) Today let's continue with Zoya's Surf Collection and take a look at Carly. Carly is a beautiful dark purple with a ton of silver shimmer in a foil finish.

I would describe Carly's base as a very bold eggplant purple with red undertones. The color shifts from blackened purple to lighter purple with hints of pink shimmer, depending on the angle. It goes on the nail smooth and shiny, and the silver shimmer makes this color look almost metallic.

Carly is yet another one-coater from this collection, and I have swatched it as thus. It is so saturated that no second coat is needed. Really, I love one-coat polishes. They save 5 to 10 minutes off of a manicure, and when a girl is busy, every minute counts! :D

You can find Carly on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Meg

Hi everyone! <3 Sorry I didn't get a chance to post this past weekend. I got caught up reading Agatha Christie. I love her books, and I ended up finishing two of them this weekend. I just couldn't put them down because I had to to find out "who dunnit"! :D

Today I have another polish from Zoya's Surf Collection. It is the lovely Meg, a grassy, yellowy-green base with silver shimmer in a foil finish.

Meg is a light, yellow tone green, similar to the color of fresh celery and snap peas. The shimmer in Meg is predominately silver, although the occasional gold shimmer is visible at certain angles. For me, this isn't a super interesting color, but it is a tried-and-true light green that works well for spring and summer.

In a departure from the norm of this collection, Meg is actually a two-coater for me. One coat was mainly opaque with just a few bald spots, so the second coat helped even everything out. The consistency of the formula is just as good as all the others in the collection and made application easy. :-)

You can find Meg on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! More info HERE.
