Barielle Sunshine

I can't believe it's September already. It's been such a wonderful summer, and I'm just not ready for it to end yet. *shudders at the thought of months of rain and gloom* I'm late again with today's post. The holiday weekend has turned me into a lazybum, and I've just gotten to finishing this up. :-)

In keeping with my summer's-not-yet-over mood, I have some summery colors from Barielle to show you this week. Today's polish is Barielle's Sunshine, a golden, banana yellow with the most subtle of shimmers.

The formula is a little thicker than what I'm used to from Barielle, though not thick enough to make application difficult. It applies smoothly without any pooling or clumping. What you see is two coats, and it dries a little streaky, so a third coat won't hurt. It also dries just a shade darker than what you see in the bottle.

You can find Sunshine on Barielle.com for $8 for 0.45 fl oz, though there is an ongoing sale for buy one get one 50% off; or as part of the Some Like It Hot kit of five polishes for $25.

  3. Our summer was the worst for many, many years her in Denmark, so I'm all in for clinging to whatever is left of it - and this gorgeous color is just right for it!!

  4. I agree with you, how come summer break is already almost over? *cry*

I like the color on you very much, and even if I hate yellow I can be neutral enough to admit it's a very pretty color. But I can't go past my hatred of lemon/yellow regarding my own nails... for now. :)

  5. I wonder why yellow usually is so difficult to make look non-streaky and fully opaque!? I think you did a great job with this one :)

    1. Thanks, I'm glad you like this. I'm not sure why, but I have definitely noticed that yellow polishes with great formulas are hard to come by. This is the best yellow I have tried. :-)

  11. Ohhhhhb yellow!!! yes yes yes!! Me loves it a lot!!!
A bit bummed about the application and the streakiness but I believe it's something that can easily be solved with a nice top coat ;-))
And I'm with you: not yet ready for anything but the summer. Although... I am so very happy that the temperature is not as high as it was a week ago!!

    1. I'm totally partial to yellow too. It's such a cheerful and bright color. :-) The streakiness isn't too bad, so I think a top coat would probably take care of it.
