Butter London Trustafarian

Hi, you guys! Hope you're all in the midst of a fabulous week! :-)

Today, I have another polish from Butter London's Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection to share with you. Trustafarian is a light, sage green with a golden, shimmering holographic finish.

I think the question on everyone's mind when it comes to a holographic polish is "how strong is the holo?" I would say it's about medium strong with Trustafarian. You can definitely see it as you rotate your hands, especially under a direct light, and it should be the strongest under sunlight. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of sunlight in the Pacific Northwest this time of the year, so I had to settle with taking pictures under artificial lighting. You can definitely see some of the holographic shine, but my pictures don't show its full potential.

Trustafarian's formula is thin, smooth, and easy to apply. What you see in the swatches is two coats, and it's still a little sheer. When the holographic shine is in effect, it helps to hide the sheerness, so two coats is no problem. But you'll probably need that third coat for the other times.

My favorite part of this polish, in addition to its holographic finish, is that pretty and fresh green base. And yes, it took me a few times before I figured out how to spell "Trustafarian". :-)

You can find Trustafarian on butterlondon.com for $14 for 0.4 fl oz.

  2. LOL it is a tricky and cool name - I agree the green part is cool, it would be nice with a little stronger holo....

    1. Hehe tricky and cool for sure. I think a stronger holo is always a good thing. :D But I don't mind with Trustafarian because the less strong holo allows the base color to be more prominent. :-)

  4. This looks cool on you. For me, I'd prefer a darker colour, and a stronger holo. But you pull it off for sure! :)

  5. I wouldn't have picked it for myself, and I would have been damn sorry afterwards, because it leans truly gold-ier than green-ier. It looks really classy on you, Yun!

  11. It's such a pretty color, though, even without a super strong holo. It looks so lovely on you, and I bet it'll be perfect in spring, too :) It's actually been pretty nice here the last couple days. Anyhoo, I wish I could wear this shade as well as you do... I don't think I've seen prettier swatches.
