OPI Lights of Emerald City

Hi you guys! Hope you're having a great Saturday! :-)

Today, I've got one of the glitters from the OPI Oz The Great and Powerful Collection to share with you. Lights of Emerald City is a sparsely populated glitter made up of medium-sized square opalescent and large square white glitter pieces in a sheer base.

The large white squares in here look like pieces of paper on the nails... definitely an interesting look. Since this is sheer, it's better used as a topper, and I've got it over OPI I Theodora You in the swatches. Application-wise, this polish was on the trickier end. Due to how sparse the glitters are, you have to dollop the polish onto the nails, then gingerly smooth it out. But as you smooth it from cuticle to tip, you kind of drag the glitters along, so more of them end up on the tips. I did one coat for each nail, then went back and filled in some of the bald spots along the cuticles.

You can find Lights of Emerald City at your local nail salons and beauty stores such as Ulta and Dillard's for a retail price of $9 for 0.5 fl oz.

  6. I just bought this one today. I was kind of on the fence but the square pieces looked so unusual. sorry application was a pain but I think the result is really pretty.

  8. Hi Yun - stunning on you!!! I prefer scarcer glitters as Lights of Emerald City and therefore don't mind to end up with some pushing and shoving ;-) - Christine
