I've got another color from the OPI Bond Girls Collection to share with you today. Vesper is a dark murky eggplant purple with black glitters that dries to a textured matte glitter finish.
To me, Vesper is the odd child out in the collection. While all the other colors of the collection are bright and happy, this one is dark and moody. The black glitters in here aren't very sparkly, so they look a bit like pieces of dirt stuck on the nails. The formula is also not like the others. It's thin and the glitters are sparse, so I needed three coats for full coverage. At that number of coats, the base is so dark that it looks almost black under certain lightings. And drying time is quite slow.
You can find Versper at your local nail salons and beauty stores such as Ulta and Dillard's for a retail price of $9 for 0.5 fl oz.

I think it's pretty. It could have been slightly lighter, but I'm really fond of how dark the colour is.

Hi Yun - I love Vesper and being a big fan of dark, dark polishes this was a must-have for me. However I see your point and can understand your hesitancy. I don't mind the three coats though, at least with my other black Liquid Sand - I believe it is called Stay the Night it is not bothering me :-) - take care <3
ReplyDeleteIf you love dark eggplant purple colors in the summer, this is probably more for you. :-) As for the formula, I think I only needed two coats for Stay the Night and Vesper is thinner than that, at least it seems to me.

Three coats of slow drying polish is way too much for me - and I know that this is only going to look black on me, that naughty polish :D

DeleteHmmm...I thought I'd love this, and I WANTED to love it since I love Vesper, but...I hoped it would be more of dark eggplant on the nails, and it just looks black. :( Especially with summer coming, this is an odd one. Oh well. Can't win 'em all, I suppose!
