Butter London Brown Sugar

Hi there, lovely readers! Happy Mid-Autumn! We celebrated with friends last weekend by eating mooncakes, the ubiquitous food of the holiday. I've never been a huge fan of the original flavors like lotus and red bean, but one of our friends found more interesting flavors for us to try, like jasmine tea, and they were delicious. Being the tea-lover that I am, I love anything tea-flavored. :-)

Today, I have another gorgeous lacquer from the Butter London Rock Your Colour Collection to share with you. Brown Sugar has a reddish brown base filled with oodles of golden shimmers and gold and pink glitters.

Gosh, isn't this one just sensational?! It's my favorite from the collection. It's so sparkly and full of warmth, really just a perfect color for fall. The formula's equally awesome. It's easy to apply, coming out effortlessly though a little on the thin side. I ended up doing three coats for total coverage, but you may be able to stop at two coats depending on your application. Even though this is a glitter, it dries glossy and smooth to the touch, which is a total bonus. :-)

You can find Brown Sugar on butterlondon.com and at select retailers such as Nordstrom and Ulta for $15 for 0.4 fl oz.

  1. I almost bought this the other day and was good instead. Now I am kind of wishing I had gotten it.

I love moon cakes! I think my mom is going to send me some. My favorite are the lotus with the salty egg in the middle. I'll have to try to find jasmine. I really don't like the ones with nuts and meat in them. :)

    1. Hehe, you have more self control than I do. :)
My friend got the jasmine mooncakes from a local tea shop. I thought it was cool that they incorporated different teas into the mooncakes. :) I like the nutty ones, though I've never tried the meat ones... they sound really interesting! :D

  2. What a gorgeous colour! I love the combination of reds and bronze--it puts me in mind of warm cinnamon sugar. And happy Mid-Autumn Festival, Yun! I just finished stuffing my face with sugar overload in the form of a triple chocolate moon cake from Mrs. Field's. ^_^

    1. I'm not usually a fan of brown too, especially if they are more muddy looking lol. But this is in a totally different category! :D

  13. I thought this was a plain glitter bomb at first. The base is VERY pleasant surprise!

    1. I thought it would be more glittery too (like Bit Faker), but it turns out the base is much more of a central focus. :)
