OPI The Living Daylights

Hi you guys! Hope those of you on the east coast are keeping safe and warm through the storm! <3

I have the second of two glitters from OPI's Skyfall Collection to share with you today. The Living Daylights is made up of a sheer base filled with uniformly larger-sized hexagon glitter pieces in colors teal, orange, and silver.

With all those colorful glitter pieces, this polish looks like a disco ball in the bottle. In the swatches, I have The Living Daylights over OPI's Moonraker. Due to the larger glitter size, I expected the glitters to be sparser, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was not so. There is a good density of glitters in the polish, so you don't have to do any fancy fishing maneuvers to get those glitters onto the brush. I did have a little trouble getting the glitters to distribute evenly onto the nails without looking messy, but that's probably due to user error and not the polish's fault.

Overall, this is my least favorite from the collection. I'm not a fan of big glitter pieces because they just look messy to me. And I'm not digging the teal / orange / silver color combination, which doesn't really seem to go together. But those are really just personal preferences, so feel feel free to disagree and love this polish. :-)

You can find The Living Daylights at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

  1. I agree, bigger glitters aren't as nice as smaller - or at least it should not be "only" big glitters - a mix would have been nice. But the colors are great :)

    1. Yes, if it would have been nice if there were some smaller glitters mixed in. :-)

  2. I actually think those colors are very cool together - unique and unexpected for OPI. I've thought about picking this up. Although you think it looks messy on you - I don't. The size of your nails makes this polish look perfect!

  3. I like the offbeat colour combo too. While I love this collection as a whole just for the theme alone, this is really the only polish from it that I'd probably regret not purchasing. Must find it!

  5. I decided against this one because I wasn't quite sure what base would look right and the fact that it's a little wild for work (not that it's stopped me before!) BUT...the unique colors of the glitter kept catching my eye. I kept picking it up..and setting it down again. haha. It looks very nice!!! I do like it and what you had to say about application. I ended up with Live and Let Die I think it's called. Curious to see your post on that one!

    1. I had a little trouble deciding which base to use for this one too. Maybe if I had picked a different base, I may like it more... I'm not sure. Ooh yes, I have Live & Let Die coming up! :-)

  6. I love the color combo with this glitter. I like that it's outside of the box for OPI. I would have preferred smaller hexes though.

    1. It's definitely something different for OPI. I also would have liked some more smaller glitters :-)

  8. I think this looks really cool on you - but the orange glitters don't do anything for me in this mix. :)

  11. I think it would have been better with some medium-sized hex glitters to fill the spaces but I'm pretty impressed with the density as is :o It's not my cup of tea but I'm sure others will like it, and it's nice to see something different from OPI!

  12. I dont own any OPI polish so I cant say much, but I do agree with some of the others above, its a little too chunky for my glitter tastes. I love the colors of the glitters but definitely needs a little extra something

    1. Thanks, I feel the same. There's an awful lot of space between just the big glitters. :-)
