OPI Live and Let Die

Happy Friday, you guys! :-)

Today, we're wrapping up OPI's Skyfall Collection with Live and Let Die, a dark olive green polish with tons of sparkly gold shimmers.

This green is so dark that it can appear almost black in certain lighting. I was pleasantly surprised that even though the base is so dark, the gold shimmers are able to shine through clearly and distinctively. The formula is smooth and pigmented. It is almost opaque in just one coat, though I did two for the swatches to even everything out.

Now that I have tried all the colors in this collection, I have to say that this is my favorite OPI collection to date! I feel every color is a win, and the James Bond theme is just so cool. My favorites from the collection are Die Another Day, GoldenEye, Moonraker, and The World Is Not Enough, but if I had to pick just one, it would absolutely be GoldenEye. :)

Let me know what you think of this collection in the comments below. What are the hits and misses for you, and which ones will be making it onto your buy list?

You can find Live and Let Die at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Hi, you guys! I've got another gorgeous color from OPI's Skyfall Collection to show you today. On Her Majesty's Secret Service has a steel blue base filled with tons of sparkling multi-colored shimmers.

The micro-glitters sparkle in a variety of colors when the light hits it; I see predominantly gold, pink, green, and blue. Compared with The World Is Not Enough, its taupe-y counterpart, this polish is more pigmented and its micro-glitters are denser, so you only need two coats. Dry time is just a smidgeon slower than average for OPIs.

One random thing about this polish is that it has a slightly stinky smell, kind of like a skunk. I'm not sure why it smells like this, since none of the other OPIs in the collection do. It's not strong or anything, but definitely noticeable if you give it a wiff.

In terms of similar colors, I thought this looked quite close to Zoya FeiFei, so I dug that out for a quick comparison. They look a little different in the bottles (probably due to their different bottle shapes), but once on the nails, I could not tell a difference at all. So if you have one, you probably don't need the other.

You can find On Her Majesty's Secret Service at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI The World Is Not Enough

Happy Halloween, lovely readers! Are you doing anything fun to celebrate? For me, it's a regular work day, but our office does get into the spirit with this Trick-or-Treat event in the afternoon where people bring in their kids, so that should be fun. I'm looking forward to seeing the kiddies in their cute costumes. :-)

Today, I have another one of my favorites from OPI's Skyfall Collection to show you. Yes, another favorite. I'm really loving this collection, so a bunch of them ended up as favorites of mine lol. The World Is Not Enough is a light taupe / brown polish with tons of sparkly, predominantly pink shimmers.

The taupe base qualifies this polish as a neutral, but the micro-glitters add that extra zing to elevate this polish out of the ordinary. When the light hits it, the micro-glitters sparkle like crazy, and you can see all sorts of colors in there—pink, silver, and green.

Formula-wise, this is a little thicker than typical OPIs, presumably to keep the shimmers afloat. Each coat is slightly sheer, so you will need three coats for opacity. And it dries a little slower due to the thicker formula. All-in-all, application is a little tricky, but the gorgeous color totally justifies it for me.

You can find The World Is Not Enough at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI The Living Daylights

Hi you guys! Hope those of you on the east coast are keeping safe and warm through the storm! <3

I have the second of two glitters from OPI's Skyfall Collection to share with you today. The Living Daylights is made up of a sheer base filled with uniformly larger-sized hexagon glitter pieces in colors teal, orange, and silver.

With all those colorful glitter pieces, this polish looks like a disco ball in the bottle. In the swatches, I have The Living Daylights over OPI's Moonraker. Due to the larger glitter size, I expected the glitters to be sparser, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was not so. There is a good density of glitters in the polish, so you don't have to do any fancy fishing maneuvers to get those glitters onto the brush. I did have a little trouble getting the glitters to distribute evenly onto the nails without looking messy, but that's probably due to user error and not the polish's fault.

Overall, this is my least favorite from the collection. I'm not a fan of big glitter pieces because they just look messy to me. And I'm not digging the teal / orange / silver color combination, which doesn't really seem to go together. But those are really just personal preferences, so feel feel free to disagree and love this polish. :-)

You can find The Living Daylights at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI Moonraker

Today, I've got another personal favorite from OPI's Skyfall Collection to share with you. Moonraker is a bluish gray metallic that dries to a fascinating chrome finish.

I love this polish, both for its color and for its chrome finish. For me, this is the first gray I've ever worn that actually looks good against my skintone, and I'm totally thrilled! I think it's due to the blue tint, which helps to soften the gray and make it more wearable. I've had Moonraker on for the past five days, and I'm still totally digging it. :-)

This polish has a somewhat tricky formula. If you don't let each coat dry for at least 5 minutes before applying the next one, you will see a streaky mess. But even if you mess up and do that (which I did), once it dries, most of the mistakes even out and become almost imperceptible. It applies initially as a metallic, but dries to a stunning chrome finish, and I needed just two thin coats for opacity.

You can find Moonraker at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI Tomorrow Never Dies

Hi, you guys! Hope the weekend is treating you well! :-)

Today, continuing with OPI's Skyfall Collection, I have Tomorrow Never Dies to share with you. It is a cool-toned purple with lots of blue shimmers in a metallic finish.

This is definitely an interesting color. You can see more purple or blue, depending on the lighting. My camera always freaks out a bit when trying to capture purple, but you can see how it looks both purple and blue at the same time, though in real life, you will see more purple than my pictures show. Formula is smooth and thin, and dry time is quick like a bunny. I needed the usual two coats for opacity.

You can find Tomorrow Never Dies at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI Casino Royale

Happy Friday, lovely readers! :-)

Today, I have the second of two cremes from OPI's Skyfall Collection to share with you. Casino Royale is a vampy, medium plum in a creme finish.

Compared with Skyfall, the other creme in the collection, they both have a common deep red tone, but Skyfall leans more burgundy while Casino Royale leans more purple. Application of Casino Royale is a breeze with its thin and smooth formula, and it is opaque in two quick coats.

You can find Casino Royale at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI Skyfall

Hi you guys! It's Thursday, and this week has just flown by. I did some fall shopping earlier in the week, and found the cutest pair of boots at DSW. It's just in the nick of time too. My prior pair of boots had holes in the front, which means you could see my socks if you looked carefully and my socks would get wet when it rained lol. I love the satisfaction of finding a good pair of shoes, especially during a desperate moment. :D

Anyways, back to polish. I've got another wonderful color from OPI's Skyfall Collection to share with you today. Skyfall is the namesake of the collection and of the movie that inspired the collection, so my expectations were high and it does not disappoint. It is a dark vampy red with a slight hint of brown in a creme finish.

This is a variation of the ultra-popular oxblood shade for this fall, so you'll definitely be on trend with this color. I found the formula to be thin and smooth, typical of OPI's cremes, though this one is just a tad on the runny side. Be sure to wipe the excess off the brush before application, or you may get some dollops that run onto the nails. It is also fairly pigmented, and I needed just the two usual coats for opacity.

You can find Skyfall at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI GoldenEye

Continuing with OPI's Skyfall Collection, today I have one of two glitter polishes from the collection to show you. GoldenEye is densely packed with small gold glitters in a sheer base.

I didn't have any trouble with application. The glitters spread out easily enough without much coaxing. You need one thin coat followed by one thicker coat, or three thin coats for even coverage and opacity. Dry time is a little slower for this polish, typical of this type of glitter, since the formula is slightly thicker to keep all the glitters nicely suspended in the base.

In my opinion, GoldenEye is one of the standouts of the Skyfall Collection. It looks shimmery and sparkly in the bottle, but it really wow-ed me when I put it on. The glitters have this flat, generously chunky look once on the nails, so that it resembles beaten gold sheet metal. It is totally gorgeous! :-)

You can find GoldenEye at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI Die Another Day

I have another polish to show you today from OPI's Skyfall Collection, and this one is a personal favorite of mine. Die Another Day is a warm, orange-toned red with a metallic finish.

On the orange-red scale, this color is definitely more red than orange, but the orange is a noticeable component. The formula is thin and pigmented, making application super easy. While it is a metallic, there are almost no distinguishable brush strokes. It is almost a one-coater, though I did two in the swatches just to add a little extra depth to the color. Of the three red colors from this collection, Die Another Day is my favorite. I just can't resist jewel tones, and this one is exactly the sort of rich vibrant color I love.

You can find Die Another Day at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.
