Zoya Hazel

Hi you guys! Hope your week is going along nicely. Mine's flying by with this being a short week. Sometimes that's a good thing, but then the end of the week comes along and I realize I haven't gotten anything done lol.

Today I've got another of the foils from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you. Hazel is an icy blue with tons of silver and a dash of gold shimmers, all in a foil finish.

Hazel is a bit more muted and not nearly as bright as the other colors in this collection. It's understated in a way that makes it elegant for summer, but I think I'll also be wearing this color quite a bit in the winter. This is another one in the collection that is a true foil (like those in the Zoya Surf Collection of last year), and so it possesses all the positive qualities of one. It's smooth and wonderfully pigmented, opaque in just two quick coats. Remember that with this finish, the polish tends to dry a little faster, so be quick with your coats and don't go over the same area too many times.

You can find Hazel on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Bobbi

Hi you guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was pretty awesome. I relaxed, got tons of sleep, caught up with friends, ate delicious food (one of my friends cooked for us) and also not-so-delicious food (buffet... need I say more?). I even managed to get some chores and swatching done. :-)

Today, I've got my favorite and the first of three actual "foils" from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you. Bobbi is a medium magenta pink with tons of silver shimmers in a foil finish.

Bobbi is the one that immediately caught my eye when I first got the collection. It's exactly the sort of color I love for summer - bold, vibrant, and happy. And I'm totally digging the foil finish. It's smooth and even, and so pigmented that you can get away with just one coat if you're feeling lazy, though I did the standard two for the swatches for extra depth and richness of color. I love the formula and finish from last summer's Zoya Surf Collection, so I'm really happy to see Zoya put out more colors this year with the same formula and finish.

You can find Bobbi on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Tinsley

Hi you guys! I'm a little late with today's post, but here it is finally. I'm off work for the holiday, so I'm having a super lazy day and it's hard to get anything done at faster than a snail's pace lol. :-)

Today, I've got another sparkly shade from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you. Tinsley is a pink rose with tons of sparkly golden shimmers in a glass fleck finish.

Just like Kerry and Amy in this collection, this is another one that Zoya refers to as a foil, but it seems more like a glass fleck to me. The first coat is a little thin and sparse, but the second coat does a lot to fill in everything and reach great coverage. I stuck with two coats for the swatches and I'm happy with the coverage at that, but you can still see just a bit of the visible nail lines, so you may want a third coat if you prefer total opacity.

You can find Tinsley on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Amy

Hi you guys! Hope your weekend is off to a stellar start! :-)

I've got another sparkly number from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you today. Amy is a bright rich orange with tons of golden shimmers in a glass fleck finish.

The orange base leans a little red, while the golden shimmers help balance it out so that you end up with a lot of depth to this orange. Definitely a great one for the orange-lovers out there. :-) Amy is another one in the collection that Zoya calls a foil, but it reminds me of the glass fleck finishes in Zoya's Sunshine Collection. The first coat is a little on the sheer side, but the second coat does a nice job of filling everything in and reaching opacity.

You can find Amy on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Kerry

Hi you guys! :-) Happy Friday! I'm sooo excited cause it's a long weekend. Monday's my first paid holiday since the new year, and it couldn't have come at a better time. The stretch from January to May always seems unbearably long; work goes on at a crazy pace with dark depressing weather and no days off. The extra day of R & R is just what I need to recharge. :-) Do you guys have any plans for the long weekend?

Today, I'm kicking off the last of Zoya's summer collections and probably my favorite of the three (although that's hard to say with so many awesome colors lol). First up in the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection is Kerry, a bright golden yellow with a glass fleck finish.

This color is so bright and sparkly, it makes me think that if you could bottle sunshine, it would probably look something like this. :-) In terms of its finish, even though Zoya calls this a foil, the finish seems more like their glass flecks (like those in the Sunshine Collection) than their foils (like those in the Surf Collection). The golden yellow shimmers are suspended in a mostly clear base. The first coat is quite thin and patchy, but the second coat fills in nicely and is what you see in the swatches. You may want a third coat depending on how totally opaque you like your coverage, but honestly, it's so sparkly that it's hard to see any unevenness, so that third coat is optional. :-)

You can find Kerry on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Essie In The Cab-ana

Hi you guys! Hope this week is treating you well, and you're hanging on! We're already half-way to the weekend. :-)

Wrapping up the Essie Resort 2013 Collection today, I've got the last of the set of four polishes to share with you. In the Cab-ana is a cool-toned bright blue with slight hints of dustiness and aqua in a creme finish.

This was a challenging color to capture exactly right, with the hints of dustiness and aqua being quite shy. In real life, this is just a shade more muted and more teal than what you see in the pictures. In The Cab-ana has a great formula, applying onto the nails easily in thin and even coats. It's also quite pigmented, so you need just the standard two coats for opaque coverage. Just a note since it's blue - I'm happy to report that there's no staining upon removal. :-)

Now that I've tried all the colors, I'm thrilled by how much I love this collection. Each color is a lovely and well-done take on its respective color family. My favorites are In The Cab-ana and First Timer, but I think the whole collection is really quite beautiful. I'd love to know what you think of this collection. What are your favorites and will any be making it into your stash?

You can find In The Cab-ana on Essie.com, at your local nail salons and drug stores, and at big name retailers like Target and Macy's for $8 for 0.46 fl oz.

Essie Under Where?

Hi you guys! :-)

Continuing with the Essie Resort 2013 Collection, I've got another pretty shade to share with you today. Under Where? is the quintessential lilac creme, leaning just slightly more pink than blue.

I'm a little slow, but this is the one whose name finally made me realize that all the polishes in this collection have slightly naughty names lol. :D Pink-leaning lilacs tend to be more forgiving against my skintone than blue-leaning lilacs, so I'm a big fan of this shade. Formula-wise, this is a trickier one in the collection. It's thinner and streakier than the rest. The first coat is definitely very patchy, though the second coat does a lot to help with that, and that's what you see in the swatches. You can probably do a third coat if you want it extra smooth, but I'm ok with just two coats.

You can find Under Where? on Essie.com, at your local nail salons and drug stores, and at big name retailers like Target and Macy's for $8 for 0.46 fl oz.

Essie First Timer

Hi you guys! Hope your Monday is off to a good start. :-)

I've got another fun color from the Essie Resort 2013 Collection to share with you today. First Timer is a cool-toned medium minty green with a creme finish.

This is a really pretty and unique green. :-) Depending on the lighting, it can look more aqua or more green. It seems relatively light in the bottle, but once on the nails, it appears darker and more of a medium green... not sure why that is lol. The formula is good, coming out in thin and even coats that are nicely pigmented and that dry to a glossy shine. The first coat is a little streaky, but the second coat smooths everything out and reaches opaque coverage.

You can find First Timer on Essie.com, at your local nail salons and drug stores, and at big name retailers like Target and Macy's for $8 for 0.46 fl oz.

Essie Come Here!

Happy weekend! Hope yours has been filled with lots of fun and relaxation. :-)

I'm so excited to have the Essie Resort 2013 Collection to share with you, and I wanted to kick it off today with the first of the bunch. Come Here! is a bright rich red-coral with a creme finish.

This is such a great summer color. While there are a lot of coral polishes out there, there's a certain intensity and depth to this color that makes it stand out from the rest. On the coral color spectrum, I would say this one is about as red as you can go while still retaining coral status. The formula is lovely—smooth, even, and pigmented, making application a breeze. Two coats is all you need for total opaque coverage.

You can find Come Here! on Essie.com, at your local nail salons and drug stores, and at big name retailers like Target and Macy's for $8 for 0.46 fl oz.

Zoya Josie

Hi you guys! :-)

Today, I'm wrapping up the Zoya Stunning Summer 2013 Collection with Josie, a cool-toned slight-dusty medium grassy green with a creme finish.

Josie is definitely another win for Zoya. The color is terrific, though it does make my warm Asian skintone look both red and yellow at the same time lol. The formula is great as well. It's thin, smooth, and nicely pigmented, neeeding just two coats for opaque coverage. Dry time is fast, and each coat dries to a glossy finish.

Now that I've gone through all the colors in the collection, I'd love to know what you think of it. For me, I love bright pinks, so Micky and Yana are probably my favs from the collection. Which ones are yours? Will any of the colors be going home with you? :-)

You can find Josie on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.
