OPI Stay the Night

Hi, you guys! I want to wrap up the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection today with the last of the liquid sands. Stay the Night is a black polish with small red glitters that dries to a matte, textured finish.

Just like the other liquid sands, this one has extra grit particles added in addition to the glitters to enhance and amplify the texture. Formula-wise, this is super easy to work with. It's pigmented, needing just the standard two coats for opacity. And since all the glitters are small and uniform in size, they distribute evenly across the nails without any coaxing.

Now that I have tried the liquid sands, I have to say they exceeded my expectations. I didn't think I would like them at all with the odd texture and the matte finish. I thought they would just be dull and lumpy. But they turned out to have a lot of depth and are quite sparkly. The texture does bother me a little bit because I tend to fidget and run my fingers over my nails constantly. I guess if I can't get used to them, I can always just add top coat to fix that.

OPI Can't Let Go

Hi, you guys! Continuing with the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection, I've got another of the 'stage' liquid sand polishes to share with you today. Can't Let Go is a cool-toned, bluish purple with blue shimmers, small blue and purple glitters, and medium-sized purple hexagon glitters.

I had a sentimental moment when I first tried on this polish. The Mariah Carey song with the same name was one of my favorite Mariah Carey songs growing up, so I had to dig out the song for a listen. It still sounds just as beautiful today as I remembered. :-)

Just like the other polishes in this collection, this goes onto the nails glossy, then dry down to the textured, matte glitter finish. The gritty texture is just as prominent and the glitters are just as sparkly in this as in the rest of the collection. The formula is pigmented, and I needed only the two standard coats for opaque coverage.

OPI Get Your Number

Hi, you guys! Hope your week is off to a smooth start! :-)

Today, I've got another one of the 'stage' liquid sand shades from the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection to share with you. Get Your Number is a cool-toned blue jelly with small holographic glitters that dries to a textured, matte glittery finish.

This is the most sparkly of the liquid sands, due to its hoard of holographic glitters that catch the light at the slightest movement of the hand. This is also the most sheer of the bunch. At two coats, which is what I have in the swatches, you can still see the faintest of visible nail lines. Once this dries to the textured finish, the matte glitters remind me of cupcake sugar sprinkles and crushed glass.

OPI The Impossible

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I love watching football, and I look forward to this every year. My team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, didn't do too well this year, so I don't have much at stake in this game. That's actually a good thing because I tend to get really anxious if my team is playing and have spent the entire game hiding out behind chairs and stuff cause I can't bear to watch lol.

Today, I've got the first of the four 'stage' shades from the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection to share with you. The stage shades have the new OPI Liquid Sand finish, so they dry down to a textured, matte glittery look. I was most looking forward to The Impossible, a bright pinkish red jelly with small red and purple glitters, medium-sized purple hexagon glitters, and large star glitters.

This is such a fun color and I love the mix of glitters in here. The small and medium glitters spread out evenly without too much effort. I did have trouble with the large star glitters. They sink to the bottom of the bottle, so I had to tilt the bottle back and forth to get the stars to come up, then swirl the brush around in the hopes of snagging one. I finally managed to get a star on three of the fingers.

As you apply the polish, it goes on glossy, and then it will dry down to a matte finish. This is nicely pigmented, and I needed just the standard two coats for total coverage. Texture-wise, it is as advertised. It's gritty and sandy to the touch, which comes from not just the glitters. It looks like there are additional particles in there that contribute to the rough texture.

OPI Sprung

Hi, you guys! Today, I have the last of the four 'studio' shades from the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection to share with you. Sprung has a reddish/brownish copper base filled with tons of sparkling multi-colored shimmers.

The shimmers sparkle wildly in a bunch of colors when the light hits it; I see predominantly gold, bronze, and pink. As is typical for this type of micro-glitter finish, the first coat tends to be a little sheer with some bald patches, but not to worry. The second coat really helps to fill in and even everything out, achieving a good opacity. This is definitely one of my favorites from the collection, and I foresee myself wearing it a lot during the summer and fall (and maybe even spring if I can't wait that long :P).

OPI Anti-Bleak

Hi you guys! Happy hump-of-the-week! :-)

Today, continuing with the 'studio' shades of the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection, I have the only creme in the collection to share with you. Anti-Bleak is a dark, vampy plum purple with red and burgundy tones in a creme finish.

The formula is fantastic. It's smooth and buttery, gliding onto the nails in thin, even coats. It's also quite pigmented, and you can almost get away with just one coat, though I did two for the swatches to get the depth of the color to match what you see in the bottle. I had a little bit of trouble getting my camera to capture the exact shade of this purple. In real life, the color is about two shades more purple than what you see in the swatches.

OPI Pink Yet Lavender

Hi you guys! I've got another 'studio' shade from the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection to share with you today. Pink Yet Lavender is a glitter polish consisting of small silver holographic and medium pink hexagon glitter pieces in a sheer base.

In the swatches, I layered Pink Yet Lavender over A Butterfly Moment, and I really enjoy the combination. The sparkles add that extra zing while the nude base keeps it classy and understated.

The formula is quite dense with glitters and just a little thick, which keeps the glitters nicely suspended in the base. The small silver glitter pieces spread out evenly without any issues. The medium hex pieces are a little trickier (as is usual for bigger glitter pieces) and do best when the polish is dolloped on a bit and then smoothed out gently so as not to pull the pieces off the nails. What you see is one coat with a few strokes over each other to get even glitter coverage.

OPI A Butterfly Moment

Happy Monday, you guys! :-)

I'm super excited to have the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection to share with you. It is an eight-color collection comprised of four 'studio' shades and four 'stage' shades. Starting off the collection, I have the first of the studio shades to show you today. A Butterfly Moment is a nude with hints of peach and pink and a good amount gold shimmers in a metallic finish.

The combination of the peach base color and the gold shimmers makes it look like liquid rose gold on the nails. The formula is thin and smooth, providing even and opaque coverage in just two coats. It starts out a little streaky, but it's not too noticeable once the polish is fully dry.

For me personally, this is a weird color against my skintone. It's almost like the two are really close, but not the same, so they look odd next to each other. Otherwise, I think this is a lovely, classic color, perfect if you're looking for a nude with a little something extra.
