China Glaze There's Snow One Like You

Happy hump day, you guys! :-)

Today, I'm kicking off the twelve-polish China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Collection with the most unique and unusual of the bunch. There's Snow One Like You is a white texture polish with medium-sized hex glitters sprinkled throughout.

The first coat is easy to apply, but the subsequent coats are a little trickier because the polish is so bumpy. It's hard to get the second layer of polish to go on evenly and fill in all the dips. I ended up doing two coats for the swatches. I messed up my index and tried to add a third coat, but I wouldn't recommend that. It took forever to dry. Once on the nails, it reminds me of a pile of fresh snow or popcorn ceiling, depending on if you like the look or not. :P

You can find There's Snow One Like You at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

  1. I think this would be cute to use for snow in some nail art ;)

  2. I agree with ^PolishNV, but maybe on only one nail.. on all your fingers it is a tad too much. At least this is cuter than essie's - Belugaria hahaha.

    1. Hehe, yea I think this is better as an accent. It's probably a bit too much as a whole mani. :)

  3. Hmm... I'm still not convinced about this polish... Maybe as a santas belt in nail art? Definitely not my favorite

    1. Mmm it would be cute as a santa's belt or some other nail art. I probably wouldn't wear this by itself as a whole mani. :)

  4. I think this effect works strangely well with Belugaria by Essie, but not with this one. It almost looks like you glued flaked coconut onto your nails, LOL...wait a minute...I love coconut! :P

    1. Hehe... now that you mentioned it, it does look like coconut frosting. :P

  5. Definitely unique, but I don't think I would go for this look haha <3

  6. Not sure if I could do this polish, I think it's too textured for me. Maybe as a tiny snow accent? :)

    1. I think an accent nail or some nail art would be more manageable. It's hard to imagine wearing this all by itself. :)

  7. I think it's a fun polish - it's like having a snowball fight on your nails, LOL! :D

  8. I'm not a huge fan of this to be honest. The concept is cool but I don't like the end result.

    1. I understand. The texture looks quite extreme on the nails.

  9. Hmmmm...honestly I'm not really a fan. I could see it making great "snow" in nail art, but as a regular mani--it's a little much for me. :P

    1. Yep, I probably can't do this as a regular mani either... it's too much. It would be cute for snow accent or nail art though. :)

  10. Great swatches of a polish I'm sure wasn't the easiest to work with! I could conceivably be into this as snow or in black (like the new Essie), but other than the novelty factor, I think CG just went a little too chunky.

  12. Okay, so when I was first reading about Belugaria I read a comment about layering that with this to achieve a caviar and cottage cheese look and, well, now I've seen the cottage cheese component, lool :) I prefer the black but I find this whole trend of extreme texture so fantastically haute couture.

    3. Lol! :D Caviar and cottage cheese! Yikes, I wouldn't like that as a food combination for sure. And both polishes are so extreme it's hard to imagine that as a polish combination. "Fantastically haute couture"... what a nice way to think of it. :P

  13. I don't like it on its own, but a friend used it for gradient and it looked great.

    1. On its own would be too much for me, but I imagine it must be so interesting to use for nail art. :)

  15. Hahahahaha. Are those bumps hard? I can't imagine having squishy nails.. lol.
    (^^,)

  16. This looks like a fun polish, but I'm not sure if I could deal with the bumps... it would be great for snow in some nail art though! Beautiful swatches :)

    1. Thanks, I think this is a little too crazy for a whole mani too, but snow for nail art is just about right. :)

  17. Hmm, it was unfortunate that I didn't have a chance to see this one in person. Apparently, its not being brought into my country by the official dealer..

(side rant: you know, I was asking the sales ladies there how come I'm not seeing all of it, they insisted all of the Christmas collection were there, on the displays. But seriously, they were totally missing There's Snow One Like You & Bells Will Be Blinging. What put me off further was that they had no idea what polish I was talking about when I asked if they had Bells Will Be Blinging.. =_=!!)

Anyway, from seeing the swatches around the web, I do agree with you. It's hard to wear this as a full mani but to mimic snowy landscape or scene this would be lovely!

    1. Lol... your experience at beauty stores sounds familiar to me. I've definitely gotten blank looks before when I'm searching for stuff. :D Bummer this one is not available in your country. It's odd to make available only 10 of the 12 colors hmm. But yea, it's more fun for snow art than a whole mani haha. :D
