OPI Wonderous Star

Hi, you guys! Hope your week is going well! I've been feeling so tired for the last few days, and I think it's the time change. It's getting dark so early now... by 4pm! I wish we could be on daylight savings all year round, or I just need to move to a more southern locale lol. :)

Today, I've got the last of my picks from the regular (non-texture) portion of the OPI Mariah Carey Holiday Collection to share with you. Wonderous Star is a champagne-colored shimmer scattered with medium-sized black hexagon glitters.

The application is pretty easy. You do need to be conscious of the black glitters due to their size, but the wide flat OPI brush helps a lot with that. The formula is a little on the thinner side, so I did three coats for the swatches. The black glitters aren't too gritty, so it feels almost smooth to me on the nails, which is a nice bonus.

This polish is so interesting to me. I don't think I have another one quite like it in my stash. At first I thought I wouldn't like the contrast between the black glitter and the light shimmery base, but it actually looks quite striking once on the nails and it won me over. It's so unusual, I'd love to know what you think of it. :)

You can find Wonderous Star at your local nail salons and beauty stores such as Ulta and Dillard's for a retail price of $9 for 0.5 fl oz.

  2. Chocolate chip cookies!! lol. I bet this would make a pretty topcoat for the cremes in this collection.
I'm with ya, it wasn't exactly awesome driving home in the dark at 5:30 last night, lol. But it does give me king of a holiday-ish feeling (and it also means people won't be quite as prone to showing up at our drive-through at the last minute, lol). I hope you adjust to the change sooner than later, sweets ♥

  7. I love the time change. I don't care for sunlight, LOL...my eyes are extremely light sensitive. But I DO care for this polish. I think I want it. That and a bowl of Cookie Crisp cereal.

    2. Hehe Melissa, you remind me of a co-worker who declined a window office because he doesn't like how bright it is. :) Yay I'm glad you like the polish! I think it's awesome too. You gals are making me hungry with your cookie references. :P

  8. I hate the time change too... Have to run outside with a headlamp!!
And I'm not too big on this polish unfortunately... I prefer just straight up glitters!

  11. It is a very unique polish, I don't have anything like it either...
Maybe you should treat yourself with a little light therapy, you can buy those small lamps to use daily, there are so many different, so best google and research to get the right one :)

    1. I have a daylight lamp, but I don't think it does anything. Maybe I don't have the right one. It doesn't feel nearly as bright as the sun, I think is the problem. :D The biggest treat to myself would be to get some time off from work... I just have to hold out until December for that. :)
