China Glaze Put A Bow On It

Happy weekend, you guys! :)

Today I've got another festive polish from the China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Collection to share with you. Put A Bow On It is made up of predominantly small pink and purple shimmers and glitters in a sheer base.

The first coat is quite sheer and patchy, but it builds up with additional coats. I think it's because with the first coat, there's nothing already on the nail for the glitters to grab onto, but with the subsequent coats, the glitters will catching onto the existing glitters and fill in the holes and uneven patches, if that makes sense. :) It gets to a nice coverage at three coats, which is what I did for the swatches. It doesn't dry too gritty, though a top coat always helps if that is a concern.

You can find Put A Bow On It at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

  1. This is really unusual and lovely...how was removal on this?

    1. I removed this immediately after swatching without waiting for it to cure, so I can't say with certainty. But I'd guess that since all the glitters in here are really small and it doesn't have any of the bigger chunky pieces that usually give removal trouble, you can probably get this off with a little elbow grease without having to resort to the foil method. :)

  2. I love how it looks, but just like Melissa commented, I would be kinda worried about removal. But still looks very nice and I would probably wear it, no matter how hard will it be to remove :D

    1. Hehe I get that way too. Some polishes are just too pretty to not wear, even if removal is tricky. :)

  7. What a beautiful glitter and it suits you so well - am I so deep into polish that I don't even toss one thought towards removal? Anyhow - I love those small glitters and that they so easily can be worn on their own <3

  14. This one looks to have a bit of an edge to it with the darker glitter (it looks almost black in the pictures). I like the overall berry shade! Reminds me a bit of OPI Stay the Night.

    1. Oooh yes. There are darker patches, and you're right, it does make it more edgy instead of girly pink. I'm glad you like it! :)

  17. Ah, this polish! I didn't think anything special of it (when I saw the promo pics) until I saw it in person! But because its a colour I hardly sport, I didn't get it. However, Put A Bow On It is definitely a lovely shade!

    1. I'm glad you like it! I think it's one of those polishes that's prettier and sparklier in person... it's a bit hard to capture its beauty on camera. :)
