Zoya Darcy

Hi you guys! Hope you've all been well over the past week. I had originally planned on having posts while I was on vacation, but I think I was too ambitious. I didn't end up with even one post finished by the time I left for vacation lol. :D I confess I really missed blogging while I was gone, and I'm happy to be back with you guys again. <3

Today, let's kick off the Zoya Stunning Summer 2013 Collection! First up is Darcy, a bright rich canary yellow with a cream finish.

It's a really happy summer-time yellow, and the richness of the shade probably flatters most skin tones. :-) As is the case with yellow polishes, this one doesn't have the best formula. It goes on quite streaky. The first coat is easy to apply, but each coat after that feels like the formula is both runny and thick at the same time, if that makes sense. It's runny and thin, but if you wipe off the excess and then apply, you may not have enough polish to reach from the cuticle to the free edge, so it drags along. I ended up doing 3 coats to try to even everything out; it looks good, though not perfect, at that.

You can find Darcy on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

  2. "runny and thick" ..I know EXACTLY what you mean! I've had that problem with other polish before, but can't quite explain it. My bottle of Darcy was like that also, but I find that similar with all yellow creams. Worth it in the end! Beautiful color :)

  4. Canary yellow! So pretty! I do know what you mean about the formula--I find that most yellow polishes are hard to work with, which explains why I own so few :P I don't exactly seek them out. But this is pretty!

Hope you had a fun vacation!

I'm glad you like this color! Yes, the formula issue seems common among yellows... but that doesn't stop me haha. :D

  9. it's definitely hard to schedule posts ahead of time but it's better to enjoy vacation than worry about it. glad you're back though.

darcy is such a pretty color. i passed on it originally since i don't wear many yellows but i may break down if i end up seeing it in person. you don't see many warm yellows like this too often. very pretty!

    1. Thanks, I'm glad I had a chance to take a break from blogging. It worked out for the best that I didn't have posts scheduled ahead of time. :-)

  13. Sad to hear on the formula. I'm starting to warm up to yellows and this one, as you said, looks like it'd flatter. I may try it but I get what you are saying. Zoya Creamy has the same formula :( It's not flattering though - I only use it for nail art.

    1. I think you'll like Darcy a lot better... it seems to be a more flattering shade of yellow than Creamy. :-)

  15. This is true sadness. I LOVE yellow polishes so much but I have yet to find one with some real good formula :-(
This polish anyway is on it's way to me because I couldn't not have it ;-)

    1. Unfortunately, we have to put up with formula issues for those pretty yellows. I'm glad you're getting this one! :D
