Good morning! :)
Today, I've got another color from the Zoya Fall PixieDust Collection to share with you. Sunshine is a slightly muted dark navy/denim blue with lots of silver glitters that dry down to a textured matte glitter finish.
Sunshine's formula is a lot like Chita's. It's pigmented and maybe just a tad on the thick side, though still easy to control. One coat is definitely sufficient to obtain total coverage, and that's what you see in the swatches. :) My only beef with this polish is that the name is a little odd. Sunshine makes me think of warm-toned yellows and oranges... maybe even reds if we're stretching it. It definitely doesn't make me think of cool-toned denim blues lol. :D
You can find Sunshine on Zoya.com for $9 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

I was confused why this polish was named Sunshine, but then I found this piece of trivia: "Did you think it was odd that the blue was called Sunshine? This is named after Sunshine Outing, the celebrity manicurist who came up with a navy Pixie Dust shade for the Timo Welland Show at NYFW by layering Godiva, Dahlia, and Nyx!"
ReplyDeleteIt is a gorgeous shade.
Ah, thanks so much for the explanation. It makes sense now. :) It's a really pretty color, and I'm glad you like it! :)
DeleteOooh! That explains it! I was wondering about it too :)
DeleteYun, whoaa this polish is lovely! So pigmented even at 1 coat! What a stunner!
Thanks Lacqueerisa, I think so too. I just love those one-coaters! :)
DeleteI agree, the name doesn't fit this one at all! It is a really gorgeous blue, though!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad you like this blue! :)
DeleteI like the trivia behind the name! I thought it was odd too :) But it is very pretty, more like denim than a shiny navy polish imo!
ReplyDeleteNow that I know about the name, it makes so much more sense hehe. I'm glad you like the color! :)
DeleteAhh so gorgeous! This is the polish I want most from the collection.

DeleteHi Yun, oh cool, you got Jeans on your tips :-D!!! How weird to call it Sunshine. But who cares for the name with such a pretty polish - looks beautiful on you <3
ReplyDeleteHi Christine! Yes, it's such a great color... I'm glad you like it! :)
DeleteI agree with you about the name. 'Sunshine' really doesn't suit a cool tone such as this. However, the colour is lovely. Great for causal jeans days :) x
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it would look so great paired with jeans too. :)
DeleteYou're so right about the name... so un-suitable! BUT the color makes me pardon everything, because it's so nice! :D
ReplyDeleteHehe the color is awesome! I'm glad you're a fan. :)
DeleteI'm really liking the sand effect this glitter is so nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad you like this! :)
