I think Ray is about as dark green as you can get without looking like black. Its shimmers are subtle silver and green, only adding a hint of glimmer to the finish. I confess I did not like this color when I first tried it. I wanted a dark jewel green to fit in with the theme of the other colors from the collection. But it slowly grew on me and I came around. I think this would be the perfect color to wear on a crisp winter day with jeans and boots.
Ray's first coat is surprisingly light and streaky, so that it resembles a dirty swamp (eek!) on the nails. Thankfully, the second coat solves all that, making it opaque and bringing out the depth of color you see in the bottle.
You can find Ray on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 total and free shipping! Info is HERE.

It certainly is a very dark green, I think it looks awesome :)
ReplyDeleteIt is really pretty. And it's so dark that I'd definitely add glitter, but you know me: I add glitter to almost everything :D
ReplyDeleteHehe I'm glad you like it! Some glitter would definitely pep up this color! :-)

I liked the outfit/mood suggestion to wear this polish, I can totally picture it :) This would be a nice polish for the colder months, paired with complementary colours with your clothes. I have a few colours like this, but not as dark and slightly more jewel-toned.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad you like the suggestions! :-)

Pretty dark green. I wonder how it would look with a matte topcoat ;0)

Green is my absolute favorite color! But sadly, I have to say that this one isn't doing anything for me. That said, it might make a lovely base for some metallic stamping. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this one is too dark to really be considered a green. You're right, some metallic stamping would pep this right up! :-)
