China Glaze Take A Trek

Hello, dear readers! Hope your Saturday is going well! So far, my day has been mostly chores lol. Oh well, have to do them some time, right? :P

Continuing with the China Glaze Hologlam Collection, I've got another holographic polish to share with you today. Take A Trek is a cool-toned deep blue that dries to a linear holo.

It's an interesting blue, with a slightly faded denim quality to it. Application is easy and quick, with just two coats for opacity. This collection in general has fantastic formulas. I do find that with these, the second coat is best done with a light touch. Be sure that there is enough polish on the brush, and then apply the second coat with as few strokes as possible. The formula is pretty forgiving, but every once in a while, I'll drift off in my thoughts and realize I've gone over the same area too many times, which makes it patchy.

You can find Take A Trek at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $14 for 0.5 fl oz.

  1. Hey, I like this one. It seems like I don't see you in many dark colors? Or maybe that's just lately. This looks so pretty on you! You make me want every polish you show:)

    1. I'm glad you like this, Essie! Mmmm you're right, I think I haven't worn much dark colors lately... I think it's cause there are so many pretty light spring colors out. :-)

  2. It's very pretty, but the holo effect is so subtle! I think I'll skip this collection! :)

  3. This is really pretty. I got the other blue, Strap On Your Moonboots and passed on this one. I'm still debating if I need it or not.

  4. Hi Yun, Take a Trek looks so cool on you <3!! I made the same observations about the formula. While the holo effect is not overly strong it's just this that makes this Collection look nice indoors or with overcast weather. - Christine

  10. So pretty! I know that many people do not like the fact that the holo is not so "in you face" but I prefer that way. :)
