China Glaze Sunday Funday

Hi you guys! I've got the last of my picks from the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection to share with you today. Sunday Funday is a bright cool-toned medium blue with a creme finish.

I'm pretty sure this polish is called "Sunday Funday" even though the label says "Fundy". "Sunday Funday" rhymes and makes sense, whereas I'm not sure what "fundy" means lol. I love a pretty bright blue, and this one definitely lives up to expectations. Under certain lighting, it can look just a little bit teal. Formula-wise, it's a smidgen thin and runny, though good otherwise. Application on the nails is smooth and pigmented, reaching opacity in two coats.

Hope you've enjoyed my picks from the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection! :-) Let me know what you think of this collection in the comments below. What are the hits and misses for you, and which ones will be making it onto your buy list?

You can find Sunday Funday at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.

China Glaze Snap My Dragon

Hi there, lovely readers! We are half way through the week. Yay for that! :-)

Continuing with the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection, I've got another gorgeous color to share with you today. Snap My Dragon is a rich raspberry red with pink shimmers in a metallic finish.

This is a beautiful color that just glows on the nails. It's more red than pink, but the pink tint is definitely noticeable. The application is awesome—smooth and even, going onto the nails without any patches or streaks. It's pigmented as well; you can almost get away with one coat, though I did two for the swatches to get more depth of color and to match the vibrant shade that you see in the bottle.

You can find Snap My Dragon at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.

China Glaze Tart-y for the Party

Hi you guys! I've got another of my picks from the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection to show you today. Tart-y for the Party is a medium lavender with a creme finish.

This shade shows up quite bright in my swatches, but it has a hint of dustiness to it in real life. It is just a bit too dark to to be considered a pastel, and it can look more blue or purple, depending on the lighting. This has a fantastic formula. It's creamy and pigmented, going on smoothly and reaching opacity in two coats. It's a little runny, so be sure to wipe off the brush well or you may find a dollop of polish running down the bristles onto your nails during application.

You can find Tart-y for the Party at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.

China Glaze Mimosa's Before Mani's

Hi you guys! Hope you all had lovely and relaxing weekends! :-)

Today, continuing with the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection, I've got another of my picks to share with you. Mimosa's Before Mani's is a bright peachy coral with soft golden shimmers.

Overlooking the awful grammar in the name, this is a lovely summer color, so bright and cheerful! It appears have a pinker tint to the coral in the bottle, but it goes onto the nails more orange and slightly darker. The golden shimmers are soft but definitely noticeable if you look closely, though my personal bias always has me wishing for more prominent shimmers. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, reaching opaque coverage in two coats.

You can find Mimosa's Before Mani's at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.

China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On

Hi you guys! It's unusually sunny outside today, so I'm going to write this real fast and then head out to enjoy the sunshine. :-)

Today, I've got another of my picks from the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection to share with you. Keep Calm, Paint On is a light, minty, seafoam green with soft silver shimmers.

Color-wise, this is by far my favorite from the collection. It's just such a fresh and lovely spring green, and the name really speaks to me. I think I sometimes rely on nail polish as a crutch to get me through the craziness of life lol. The formula is good for the most part. It goes on thin, with a slight tendency to pool around the edges of the nail. The first coat is streaky, but the second evens everything out and reaches opacity.

You can find Keep Calm, Paint On at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.

China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around

Hi you guys! Happy weekend! It's been raining on and off today, so I'm huddled inside cleaning, watching tv, and blogging. Not bad for a weekend. :-)

I'm excited to have my picks from the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection to share with you over the next few days. Today, I'm starting off with Dandy Lyin' Around, a soft milky white with lots of silver shimmers.

The shimmers in here show up clearly on the nails and are so pretty! It gives an elegance and creaminess to the white, making it softer and easier to wear. The formula is workable, but not fabulous. It's streaky and a little thicker, which isn't helped by China Glaze's long and thin brush. It takes too many strokes to cover the nail, which results in some pooling and patchiness. What you see is three coats, and it's still a little streaky at that.

You can find Dandy Lyin' Around at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.
