When I was in high school, I loved reading Nancy Drew mysteries. Here was this super cool girl who solves crimes and helps people, all the while remaining witty, unflappable, and likable. And Nancy drives a Ford Mustang! As an impressionable youth, that fact seared itself into my mind and throughout the entirety of my teen years, the Mustang remained my dream car.
Needless to say, I was pretty excited when I saw the collaboration between OPI and Ford to celebrate the Mustang's 50th anniversary, and I've now got the six-piece collection in my paws to show you. :)

FingerPaints Poolside Paradise Collection
Happy Saturday, you guys! This week has been super busy, and I'm glad it's finally the weekend. I look forward to much relaxation and the time to read J. K. Rowling's new mystery The Silkworm. I loved the first book in her mystery series and have been eagerly awaiting this second one. Nothing makes me happier than curling up with a great book. :)
Today, I've got a fantastic collection to show you. FingerPaints' Poolside Paradise Collection is comprised of six bright shades in shimmery, glass fleck finishes. (Glass fleck, I say!) As soon as I saw this collection, I knew it was made for me, and it does not disappoint!

Butter London Ladybird & Lolly - Lolly Brights Collection for Summer 2014
Hi, you guys! How's it going hmmm? :) As I'm writing this, I'm watching reruns of Boy Meets World on tv. Do you guys remember this show? I loved it back in the day and heard that they're making a Girl Meets World series that show the main character all grown up, married with his own kid. Haha... I can't wait to see it. :D
Every year, I look forward to summer for its wonderful array of nail polishes in brilliantly intense shades that encompass all the colors of the rainbow. And so today I'm totally thrilled to be kicking off the first colors of the summer. I've got two of the gorgeous bright shades from the new six-polish Butter London Lolly Brights Collection for Summer 2014 to share with you.

Zoya Tinsley
Hi you guys! I'm a little late with today's post, but here it is finally. I'm off work for the holiday, so I'm having a super lazy day and it's hard to get anything done at faster than a snail's pace lol. :-)
Today, I've got another sparkly shade from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you. Tinsley is a pink rose with tons of sparkly golden shimmers in a glass fleck finish.
Just like Kerry and Amy in this collection, this is another one that Zoya refers to as a foil, but it seems more like a glass fleck to me. The first coat is a little thin and sparse, but the second coat does a lot to fill in everything and reach great coverage. I stuck with two coats for the swatches and I'm happy with the coverage at that, but you can still see just a bit of the visible nail lines, so you may want a third coat if you prefer total opacity.
You can find Tinsley on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Amy
Hi you guys! Hope your weekend is off to a stellar start! :-)
I've got another sparkly number from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you today. Amy is a bright rich orange with tons of golden shimmers in a glass fleck finish.
The orange base leans a little red, while the golden shimmers help balance it out so that you end up with a lot of depth to this orange. Definitely a great one for the orange-lovers out there. :-) Amy is another one in the collection that Zoya calls a foil, but it reminds me of the glass fleck finishes in Zoya's Sunshine Collection. The first coat is a little on the sheer side, but the second coat does a nice job of filling everything in and reaching opacity.
You can find Amy on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Zoya Kerry
Hi you guys! :-) Happy Friday! I'm sooo excited cause it's a long weekend. Monday's my first paid holiday since the new year, and it couldn't have come at a better time. The stretch from January to May always seems unbearably long; work goes on at a crazy pace with dark depressing weather and no days off. The extra day of R & R is just what I need to recharge. :-) Do you guys have any plans for the long weekend?
Today, I'm kicking off the last of Zoya's summer collections and probably my favorite of the three (although that's hard to say with so many awesome colors lol). First up in the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection is Kerry, a bright golden yellow with a glass fleck finish.
This color is so bright and sparkly, it makes me think that if you could bottle sunshine, it would probably look something like this. :-) In terms of its finish, even though Zoya calls this a foil, the finish seems more like their glass flecks (like those in the Sunshine Collection) than their foils (like those in the Surf Collection). The golden yellow shimmers are suspended in a mostly clear base. The first coat is quite thin and patchy, but the second coat fills in nicely and is what you see in the swatches. You may want a third coat depending on how totally opaque you like your coverage, but honestly, it's so sparkly that it's hard to see any unevenness, so that third coat is optional. :-)
You can find Kerry on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

Barielle Jillian's Jammin'
Happy Friday! :-) Today, I want to share with you my other pick from Barielle's recent holiday collection. Jillian's Jammin' is a medium blue with tons of duochrome blue/purple shimmers in a glass fleck finish.
You can find Jillian's Jammin' on Barielle.com for $8 for 0.45 fl oz, though there is an ongoing sale for buy one get one 50% off; or as part of the Carnival Fiesta kit of five polishes for $25.
** This post contains a product that was provided to me by the company for honest consideration. How I obtain the products does not influence my opinion. For more information, please view my Disclosure Policy.
The base blue color has a beautiful teal tint to it that is more visible on the nails than in the bottle. The duochrome in the shimmers isn't very strong, but you can definitely see the blue/purple shift around the edges of the nail. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, though more sheer than usual. It takes a while to build up to opacity. What you see in the swatches is three coats, and there are still some visible nail lines at that.

China Glaze Running In Circles
Hi lovely readers! Hope you are having a fantastic Christmas! :-)
Today, I wanted to show you my favorite from the recent China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away Collection. Running In Circles is a fantastically glowy green with tons of golden shimmers in a glass fleck finish.
I have been coveting this color ever since I saw the press release and its swatches. When I was at my local Sally Beauty store the other day, it totally stood out on the display. It is a stunning green, even more so in person. I was surprised they still had this color for sale, and I snatched up the only bottle on the display. Score! :-)
This sparkly and festive green is perfect for this time of the year. The base green color is a little on the cooler side, but the warm golden shimmers help balance it out. The formula is a little sheerer than typical for China Glaze. You can get 90% of the way to opacity with two coats, but you'll want a third coat if you want the last 10%. For the swatches, I stuck with three coats because the camera can be unforgiving at picking up the tiniest bit of sheerness.
You can find Running In Circles for a limited time at your local nail salons, at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty, and online at select beauty retailers.

Butter London Jack the Lad
Happy start of the week, lovely readers! I'm super excited to bring you my picks from Butter London's Holiday 2012 Collection. Today, I'm staring off with Jack the Lad, a dark forest green jam packed with tons of blue, green, and gold micro-glitters.
I'm loving this polish, with its beautiful dark green base and prominent shimmers. The micro-glitters in here are the flat, slight-larger kind, so they stand out well against the base. The formula is smooth and even, flowing nicely onto the nails. It is a little thin and I needed three coats for the swatches, but each coat does dry fast, so wait time is tolerably short between the coats.
You can find Jack the Lad on butterlondon.com for $14 for 0.4 fl oz.

OPI The Spy Who Loved Me
Happy weekend, you guys! :-)
I have been so excited for OPI's Skyfall Collection ever since the first murmurs about it came out a few months ago, and now I finally have the twelve-polish collection in my paws. I'm super excited to share all of the colors with you! Today, we're kicking off the collection with one of a few from the collection that could be categorized as red, and the only true red in the collection. The Spy Who Loved Me is a tomato red with tons of red and gold glass fleck shimmers.
The rich red base looks to be just a little bit cool toned to my eyes, while the golden shimmers warm it up, so the end result is pretty cool/warm balanced. The shimmers are nicely suspended in the base and really stand out on the nails. As for formula, this is typical of a great OPI - smooth, easy to apply, and pigmented. Two coats is all I needed to get opaque coverage.
You can find The Spy Who Loved Me at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $8.50 for 0.5 fl oz.

Julep Mischa
Hello everyone! :-)
Today, I have for you Julep's Mischa, another polish from my July Boho Glam Maven Box. Mischa is a juicy scarlet red with hints of orange and lots of sparkly shimmers.
Julep really hit it out of the park with this month's polishes for the Boho Glam profile. I thought Mischa would be another typical red (lots of those around), but it turns out to be a most interesting color. Depending on the lighting, Mischa shifts from a bright red to a more fiery orange. It also has the most fascinating silver and gold shimmers in the bottle, which then translate clearly onto the nails.
The formula is excellent, and I am able to apply even coats without any problems. Although each coat is a little sheer, they build up to a good level of opacity with two coats. I love this type of micro-glitter/glass fleck finish because it is the best of all worlds. You get shimmers and sparkles without the brush strokes of a metallic finish or the removal problems of glitters.
Don't forget to enter my current giveaway for a chance to win a Zoya mini trio, featuring three colors from the Zoya Surf Collection! <3

China Glaze Riveting
Hi guys! <3 It's the weekend, and there is plenty of sunshine outside, so it's the perfect time to wear something bright and cheerful. :-)
Today, I have for you one of two polishes I got from China Glaze's Capitol Colours Collection (inspired by The Hunger Games). Riveting is a vibrant orange with a gold shimmer that looks to be lit from within.
I have been on a bit of an orange kick lately, and as soon as I saw the swatches for this polish, I knew I had to have it. This is the most intense orange. Its base is a darker orange with lots of coral and red tones, and combined with the hoard of gold shimmer in it, makes the color look like it's glowing. Depending on the angle, it shifts from a saturated coral-orange to a sparkling golden-orange. If you are an orange-lover, this color is not to be missed. :-)
This is my first China Glaze polish, and I'm really impressed with the application and formula. The consistency is not too thick, not too thin, which makes for easy application of thin coats. The brush is medium in length, with enough stiffness that it doesn't flop around, and enough softness that the brushes spread out easily. Dry time is conveniently fast, and you need just the standard two coats to achieve opacity.
You can find Riveting at your local nail salons, at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty, and online at select beauty retailers.
Don't forget to enter my current giveaway for a chance to win the entire Zoya Surf Collection containing 6 brand new bottles of polish! <3
