OPI Make Him Mine

Hi, you guys! This week is just flying by, which is totally ok by me. :-)

Today, I've got another liquid sand and a favorite of mine from the OPI Mariah Carey Holiday Collection to share with you. Make Him Mine is a neutral pinkish rose with lots of shimmers and larger silver glitters that all dries down to a textured matte glitter finish.

Wow, this is just stunning! It's a classic and girly shade, with enough neutral in here so it doesn't appear too pink. The larger silver glitters add just the right about of bling and sparkle to make it fun and festive. When I received this, I immediately wore it for a whole week and got quite a few compliments on it. :D The application is just as good as all the other liquid sands I've tried. Each coat comes out evenly and uniformly, and two coats is all I needed for opacity.

You can find Make Him Mine at your local nail salons and beauty stores such as Ulta and Dillard's for a retail price of $9 for 0.5 fl oz.

Salon Perfect Pink Taffeta

Hi, you guys! :-)

Today, I've got another of my picks from the Salon Perfect First Look Fall Collection to share with you. Pink Taffeta is a warm rose pink with lots of pink and gold shimmers in a metallic finish.

This is a pretty and feminine shade, with the golden shimmers adding a touch of autumn to the pink. The application is great. It takes two coats for opacity, with each coat being smooth and nicely pigmented. Metallic streaks are always amplified in swatches, but in person, most of the streaks disappear as the polish dries.

You can find Pink Taffeta exclusively at Walmart stores for a retail price of $3.98 for 0.5 fl oz.

China Glaze Strike Up a Cosmo

Hi, you guys! Happy Monday! :-)

Today, I've got another of my selections from the China Glaze Autumn Nights to share with you. Strike Up a Cosmo is a pink rose foil with lots of gold shimmers and foil flakes.

This is sooo sparkly and the pink/gold combo is very pretty on the nails. It's a totally girly and festive shade. The formula's awesome too. Each coat is thin and smooth, so the foil particles distribute evenly on the nails. And I just needed the standard two coats for great opaque coverage.

You can find Strike Up a Cosmo at your local nail salons and at beauty stores such as Ulta and Sally Beauty for a retail price of $7 for 0.5 fl oz.

Zoya Tinsley

Hi you guys! I'm a little late with today's post, but here it is finally. I'm off work for the holiday, so I'm having a super lazy day and it's hard to get anything done at faster than a snail's pace lol. :-)

Today, I've got another sparkly shade from the Zoya Irresistible Summer 2013 Collection to share with you. Tinsley is a pink rose with tons of sparkly golden shimmers in a glass fleck finish.

Just like Kerry and Amy in this collection, this is another one that Zoya refers to as a foil, but it seems more like a glass fleck to me. The first coat is a little thin and sparse, but the second coat does a lot to fill in everything and reach great coverage. I stuck with two coats for the swatches and I'm happy with the coverage at that, but you can still see just a bit of the visible nail lines, so you may want a third coat if you prefer total opacity.

You can find Tinsley on Zoya.com for $8 for 0.5 fl oz. If you are new to Zoya, you can get your first two bottles of Zoya for $8 - $9 total and free shipping! More info HERE.

OPI Hands Off My Kielbasa!

Hi hi! Continuing along with the OPI Euro Centrale Collection, I've got another polish from the set to share with you today. Hands Off My Kielbasa! is a tough color to describe. It's a brownish rose and tan color with pink and bronze shimmers in a metallic finish.

This has a pearly sheen to it that depending on the light can look a tad frosty. The formula is great on this, probably helped by the fact that it's a metallic. It's smooth and pigmented. It flows evenly onto the nails without any issues and is opaque in two quick coats. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this color. The brown shade and the frostiness is a double whammy for me. But that's a personal preference. If those are things you enjoy, then you'll love this color.

You can find Hands Off My Kielbasa at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $9 for 0.5 fl oz.

OPI A Butterfly Moment

Happy Monday, you guys! :-)

I'm super excited to have the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection to share with you. It is an eight-color collection comprised of four 'studio' shades and four 'stage' shades. Starting off the collection, I have the first of the studio shades to show you today. A Butterfly Moment is a nude with hints of peach and pink and a good amount gold shimmers in a metallic finish.

The combination of the peach base color and the gold shimmers makes it look like liquid rose gold on the nails. The formula is thin and smooth, providing even and opaque coverage in just two coats. It starts out a little streaky, but it's not too noticeable once the polish is fully dry.

For me personally, this is a weird color against my skintone. It's almost like the two are really close, but not the same, so they look odd next to each other. Otherwise, I think this is a lovely, classic color, perfect if you're looking for a nude with a little something extra.

You can find A Butterfly Moment at your local nail salons and beauty stores for $9 for 0.5 fl oz.

Nicole by OPI Personally Speaking...

Happy Friday, you guys! Can you believe it's the end of the week already? I'm totally loving this shorter three-day week. Now, if only every week can be like this. :-)

Today, I have another of my picks from Nicole by OPI's CVS Exclusives. Personally Speaking... is a light, rose pink with silver shimmers and a metallic finish.

This pink has a mauve tone that helps to make it a more gentle pink, and the silver shimmers add a subtle pearly sheen to the finish. The formula is fantastic. It's thin and easy to work with, while also being pigmented. I needed just the standard two coats to get opaque coverage. Though it looks a bit streaky in the pictures, it's barely noticeable in real life. I really like this color. I think it's a soft and classy way to wear pink.

You can find Personally Speaking... exclusively at CVS for a retail price of $7.99 for 0.5 fl oz.

Priti NYC Bill Bronze Orchid

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a fun and safe July 4th! Mine was very low-key and relaxing. We did some shopping (mostly of the grocery and window shopping varieties :P) and hung out with friends. I also finally started reading the Hunger Games, and it's quite good so far! :-)

Today, I have another beautiful polish from the Priti NYC Heavy Medal for London 2012 Collection to share with you. Bill Bronze Orchid is a rose bronze with tons of small foils in a metallic finish.

Just like the others from this collection, Bill Bronze Orchid is liquid metal at its perfection. I personally love this bronze shade. It is quite a delicate bronze with lots of silver and rose influences. Of the four colors in this collection, this is the most neutral and quiet of the colors. I think I will be reaching for this color again and again, especially when I am tired of the loud summer colors and want something soft, but still shimmering and interesting.

The formula for this is just as great as the others in the collection. It is the ideal consistency, not too thick nor too thin. The foils are densely packed, so you only need two coats. After trying out a few Priti NYC polishes, I have to say I am a big fan of their brushes. They are on the wider and flatter side, so it makes getting a straight line at the cuticle super easy. And the brush's bristles are densely packed, so they hold polish well and make it easy to get thin even coats onto the nail.

You can find Bill Bronze Orchid as part of the Heavy Medal Collection of four polishes on PritiNYC.com for $37.50, or as an individual bottle for $12.50 for 0.43 fl oz.

Essie All Tied Up

Ah, my productivity from earlier this week has totally petered out. I haven't gotten much done since Wednesday, and I'm even later than I wanted to be with this post! I am consoling myself with the fact that it's Friday (which is the weekend), and no one is really productive on the weekends anyways... right? :-)

Today, I've got the last of the three polishes I have tried from Essie's summer collection to show you. All Tied Up is a burnt and browned rose color with plenty of golden shimmer scattered throughout.

The gold shimmers in All Tied Up drew me in immediately. It is such an unexpected pairing with the brownish-rose base. I wouldn't say this is a particularly summer color, and in fact, it feels more autumn-ly to me. But the gold shimmers help to brighten it up and to add a level of interest. Of the three Essie summer polishes I have, I think this is the most unique and interesting one.

Just like the other Essies from this collection that I have tried, this one has a great formula which makes application a breeze. Consistency is spot-on and color payoff is great, so just slap on two coats and it is good to go. :-)

You can find All Tied Up on Essie.com, at your local nail salons and drug stores, and at big name retailers like Target and Macy's for $8 for 0.46 oz.
