Barielle Surf's Up

Hi, lovely readers! Today's polish is another lovely one from Barielle. Surf's Up is a deep, saturated medium blue with a creme finish.

Barielle constantly impresses me with their excellent formula, and this is another one to add to that list. The polish comes out in thin, even, and pigmented coats. You can get away with just one coat of this, but I did two for the swatches to add some additional depth to the color.

This looks so vivid on the nails, I should have known what would happen once I go to remove it. It stained terribly. My nails, cuticles, skin, pretty much anywhere that the blue touched upon removal was turned a nice shade of greenish-blue. *sigh* Blue polish is always a culprit for smurf nails. So boys and girls, definitely don't forget to use base coat (several coats of it would be best) when you wear this vibrant color.

You can find Surf's Up on Barielle.com for $8 for 0.45 fl oz, though there is an ongoing sale for buy one get one 50% off; or as part of the Some Like It Hot kit of five polishes for $25.

Winner Announced for OPI Outrageous Neons Giveaway!

Congratulations to Michaela for winning the set of OPI Outrageous Neons minis. I have emailed Michaela and am currently awaiting her reply. :-)

Thank you so much to everyone for participating, and for your support of me and my blog. Don't go too far. I am putting the finishing touches on the next giveaway and it should be starting in the next few days! In the meantime, keep doing what you love and keep polishing! ♥

Barielle Stardust

Hi you guys! I am just filled with glee that it's Wednesday already, and the week is half over. I adore these short weeks. Four days of work followed by three days of weekend is a much better ratio than the current 5:2, don't you think? *wishful thinking* ;-)

Today, I have another Barielle polish to share with you. Stardust is a sheer polish filled with tons of small, color-shifting, holographic glitters.

I layered Stardust over Barielle's Gotta Have Fate. The formula is a little thicker, so the glitter particles remain nicely suspended in the base. The thickness also works great for distributing the glitters evenly and densely if you use a light touch. I only needed one coat of Stardust to get the glitter density I wanted. This polish is so sparkly and colorful in real life, my camera freaked out and had trouble focusing. Because of its sheerness, I wouldn't wear this polish alone. Instead, it is perfect as a top coat to jazz up any existing color.

You can find Stardust on Barielle.com for $8 for 0.45 fl oz, though there is an ongoing sale for buy one get one 50% off; or as part of the Dazzling Diamonds kit of five polishes for $25.

Barielle Gotta Have Fate

Hi, wonderful readers! I have another lovely Barielle polish to share with you today. Gotta Have Fate is a medium coral with a creme finish.

On the coral spectrum, I would say this one leans slightly more pink than orange. The formula is excellent. It comes out in thin, pigmented coats that make application a total breeze. I think you can almost get away with just one thin coat if you are in a hurry, but I did two just to even everything out. I have been looking for the perfect coral, and I think I have just found it! :-)

You can find Gotta Have Fate on Barielle.com for $8 for 0.45 fl oz, though there is an ongoing sale for buy one get one 50% off; or as part of the Some Like It Hot kit of five polishes for $25.

Barielle Sunshine

I can't believe it's September already. It's been such a wonderful summer, and I'm just not ready for it to end yet. *shudders at the thought of months of rain and gloom* I'm late again with today's post. The holiday weekend has turned me into a lazybum, and I've just gotten to finishing this up. :-)

In keeping with my summer's-not-yet-over mood, I have some summery colors from Barielle to show you this week. Today's polish is Barielle's Sunshine, a golden, banana yellow with the most subtle of shimmers.

The formula is a little thicker than what I'm used to from Barielle, though not thick enough to make application difficult. It applies smoothly without any pooling or clumping. What you see is two coats, and it dries a little streaky, so a third coat won't hurt. It also dries just a shade darker than what you see in the bottle.

You can find Sunshine on Barielle.com for $8 for 0.45 fl oz, though there is an ongoing sale for buy one get one 50% off; or as part of the Some Like It Hot kit of five polishes for $25.

Essence Stuck On You

Hi hi! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I've been out all day, so today's post is just a little late. I have Essence Colour & Go polish in the color Stuck on You to show you. Stuck on You is a dark blue with lots of silver shimmers.

Of the three Essence Colour & Go polishes, Stuck on You has the best formula. It is nicely pigmented and went on smooth with no pooling or streaking. It is opaque in two coats. In the bottle, the color looks more purplish-blue, but on the nails, it is strictly a dark blue with no visible purple hue. The silver shimmers transfer clearly onto the nails, and against the dark blue base, remind me of stars against a night sky.

You can find Stuck On You at Ulta, HEB, and Fred Meyer for $1.99 for 0.27 fl oz.
