Nicole by OPI I Sea You and Raise You

Hi you guys! Hope your week is off to a good start. :-)

I've got another color from Nicole by OPI's CVS Exclusives to share with you today. I Sea You and Raise You is a medium blue with a creme finish.

While this appears to be quite a vibrant blue in the swatches, it is just a smidgen less so in person. It has a slight dusty quality to it that my camera just couldn't quite capture. The formula is great. It applies in smooth and even coats and dries to a shiny finish. What you see in the swatches is two coats and it is totally opaque. The only downside to this polish is that it has a stronger, stinkier smell than usual for Nicole by OPI polishes.

You can find I Sea You and Raise You exclusively at CVS for a retail price of $7.99 for 0.5 fl oz.

Nicole by OPI Personally Speaking...

Happy Friday, you guys! Can you believe it's the end of the week already? I'm totally loving this shorter three-day week. Now, if only every week can be like this. :-)

Today, I have another of my picks from Nicole by OPI's CVS Exclusives. Personally Speaking... is a light, rose pink with silver shimmers and a metallic finish.

This pink has a mauve tone that helps to make it a more gentle pink, and the silver shimmers add a subtle pearly sheen to the finish. The formula is fantastic. It's thin and easy to work with, while also being pigmented. I needed just the standard two coats to get opaque coverage. Though it looks a bit streaky in the pictures, it's barely noticeable in real life. I really like this color. I think it's a soft and classy way to wear pink.

You can find Personally Speaking... exclusively at CVS for a retail price of $7.99 for 0.5 fl oz.

Nicole by OPI Don't Overpink It

Hi you guys! I have a few picks from the recent Nicole by OPI's CVS Exclusives that I wanted to share with you. Today, I'll start off with Don't Overpink It, a lovely medium barbie pink with a creme finish.

To my eye, this shade isn't too cool or too warm, so it should be wearable for most skintones. It has an easy application, going onto the nails in thin and even coats that dry speedily. At two coats, it is just a tad sheer, but that is my preferred way to wear it and it's what you see in the swatches. If you prefer total opacity, you will need a third coat. Overall, this isn't the most original shade, but it's still a sweet and charming basic pink creme to have.

You can find Don't Overpink It exclusively at CVS for a retail price of $7.99 for 0.5 fl oz.

Think Neutral, Not Boring!

Nicole by OPI Launches Seven New Nail Lacquers, Exclusively at CVS

Nicole by OPI announces seven new nail lacquers to be sold exclusively at CVS. With various hues of pink and rose, along with blue, maroon, purple and silver shades, these colors give fingers and toes “new neutrals” to complement the hottest trends for 2013.

Nicole by OPI is excited to provide the CVS customer with lacquers that can work with any style – from office formal to soccer practice sporty to date night dressy,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “I consider these lacquers ‘new neutrals’ because they can be worn any day, at any time. In the past, certain shades and textures were considered appropriate only for specific occasions, but now, nothing is taboo when it comes to wearing color.

“The CVS shopper leads a fast-paced lifestyle, but she doesn’t want to sacrifice fashion-forward, stylish colors,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “When she shops at CVS, she knows she’ll be able to find all of her beauty essentials in one convenient place.”

The seven new lacquers include:

I Sea You and Raise You Go for it...this ocean blue is a sure bet.
Always a Silver Lining This positively-charged silver will keep you feeling optimistic.
Don’t Overpink It Trust your instincts...this rosy pink will be perfect on you.
Feeling Grapeful Count your blessings...including this yummy purple.

A Pinker Shade of Pale The slight blush of this cool pink is just the right touch.
Personally Speaking... Between you and me, I look ah-may-zing in this light and airy rose!
Marooned in Paradise This deep burgundy could make even a castaway look chic.

Nicole by OPI nail lacquers and Nail Treatments contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde. Nicole by OPI formulas are long-lasting, fast-drying, and salon-quality. These new CVS-exclusive shades will be available November 2012 for $7.99 each at select CVS locations nationwide.

Lancome Vernis In Love Flirty Red

Happy new year, dear readers! I just want to take a moment to say how thankful I am for all the support you have shown me and this blog over the past year. It was my blog's first year, and the whole blogging experience has been more rewarding than I could have possibly dreamed. I hope your 2012 has also been rewarding and wonderful, and your 2013 will be even more so! <3

Today, I have a gorgeous vampy polish to share with you. Lancome's Flirty Red is a cool-toned dark burgundy red with just a hint of purple and tons of bright red shimmers. It is part of the three-color Vernis in Love offering from Lancome's Holiday 2012 Collection.

With direct artificial lighting

If you're a vampy polish lover, this is definitely a color for you. It's darkened around the edges, and the red shimmers make it look like it's glowing from within. I included a picture under direct artificial light so you can see all the amazing shimmers.

The application is terrific. It goes onto the nails in thin and even coats without any pooling or dragging, and each coat dries in a jiffy. And the best part is that this is a one-coater! One thing to note is that the Lancome brush is a wider paddle brush, so it may take some getting used to, but the wider brush definitely contributes to the great application.

You can find Flirty Red at Lancome counters and lancome.com for $15 for 0.21 fl oz.
