OPI Mariah Carey Holiday Collection Preview

Happy Friday, everyone! :) Even as we are all trying to hold on to the last bit of the summer, the first official info of the upcoming holiday collections are starting to come out. It looks like OPI is collaborating with Mariah Carey again, and the result is a sizable (18-polish!) collection. In keeping with recent OPI tradition, there is not a single green, but plenty of reds. All the info is below. :-)

I'll link to my reviews once those are up. (All info and images are courtesy of OPI.)

All I Want for Christmas (is OPI)!

OPI Joins Mariah Carey to Launch 18 New Limited Edition Holiday Nail Lacquers

OPI announces the launch of 18 new limited edition holiday nail lacquers inspired by recording artist and international superstar Mariah Carey. This seasonal promotion includes an assortment of red, burgundy, maroon and chocolate brown hues, along with glitter-packed gold, bronze and pearl shades. Mariah Carey Holiday also features six new Liquid Sand™ lacquers, ranging from icy blue to frosted pink to sparkling graphite. Each of the Liquid Sand shades showcases OPI’s groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle.

Mariah Carey is truly synonomous with the holiday season,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “People around the world listen to her festive, iconic songs – ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is a personal favorite – and these 18 lacquers evoke the warmth, beauty, energy and positive spirit that’s present in Mariah’s music.

“This holiday season is all about red, glitter and texture for nails,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “With 18 shades, there’s a perfect hue for every occasion. The 12 crème and glitter lacquers include classic reds, champagne gold, and warm burgundies, while the six Liquid Sand shades should be worn without top coat for a matte finish in icy, frosted colors.”

  1. I feel like OPI has been in a bit of a rut for a while. Don't get me wrong they have nice colours and every collection has at least one thing I would consider unique. But for the most part a lot of their new stuff seems uninspired.

    1. Some of their colors does seem to be a bit repetitive (what's up with all the reds and burgundys?), but I am happy to see a few interesting and unique polishes in there. For me, I'm most looking forward to the glitters and liquid sands. :)
